BULA FESTIVAL

Introduction to the Bula Festival near Paderborn 9th of October 2010

The Fijian Festival this year was named 
" Bula Festival"
like last year. Sera and Kevueli Tavainavesi were the organisers like last year and also they were among the organisers the years before. This time is happens in a complete dafferent place. Enough space for everybody, with a big stage and enough room to serve the food and a corner for the Kave ceremony. So a very suitable place for this kind of event. The place ist called Schlangen and it's about 15 km from Paderborn. The 'Bürgerhalle" is a new hall for this community. Everything was well organised and there was enogh food. Congratulation from us to Sera and Kevu and all the others who help to decorate the room and to prepare and to serve the food.

This event was one of the last chances to meet some of the Fijian friends because some of them will leave Germany soon. They are going to England. Some camps will be reduced or closed.
The master of cereminies leads us through the performances of different dance groups. On stage we saw islanders from Samoa, Tonga, Fiji,  Maluku and Hawaii. I hope I did not forget to mention a nation.
